Last Updated: Friday, 22 May 2026

Please read these Terms of Service carefully before using the Pile mobile application and related services (the “Service”).

By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Description of the Service

Pile is a personal productivity app for saving, organising, and managing web links, tags, collections, reminders, and related notes.

You may use the app locally on your device or sign in to sync your data across devices through our backend services.

2. Accounts and Sync

If you create an account or sign in with Google, you agree that the app may send your account information and saved content to our backend so the Service can authenticate you and sync your data.

You are responsible for:

If you delete your account in the app, the Service will request deletion of the account and associated server-side data.

3. User Content

You own the links, notes, tags, collections, and other content you save in the app.

You are solely responsible for the content you submit, store, or sync through the Service. Do not use the Service to store or share unlawful, harmful, infringing, or abusive content.

4. Notifications and Shared Content

If you enable reminders, you are responsible for the reminder times you set and for granting the permissions required by your device.

If you share content into the app from another app, you agree that Pile may process that shared text, URL, or attachment data to create or update an entry.

5. AI Sorting and Local Preferences

The app includes AI sorting suggestions and style memory settings.

These features currently use local logic and saved preferences to group your links. They are intended as convenience features only and may not always produce correct or useful results.

The Service may use third-party services, including Google Sign-In, Firebase Analytics, Firebase Crashlytics, and external websites opened from within the app.

Pile does not control those third-party services and is not responsible for their content, policies, or practices.

7. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, branding, and original functionality, belongs to the Pile developers and licensors.

You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, or redistribute the Service except where allowed by law or by a separate written agreement.

8. Prohibited Use

You agree not to:

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to the Service if we believe you have violated these Terms or if we need to protect the Service or other users.

You may stop using the Service at any time.

10. Disclaimer

The Service is provided on an “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” basis.

We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that your data will always be available without loss.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, Pile and its developers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service.

This includes, without limitation, loss of data, loss of access, or problems caused by third-party services.

12. Changes to These Terms
